Three States Analysis: The results of the elections of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Delhi Municipal Corporation have come. In two of these places, BJP has lost its power. Gujarat has been the only state where BJP has retained power breaking all its previous records. In Himachal Pradesh, the Congress has returned to power by defeating the BJP, while the Aam Aadmi Party has tasted victory for the first time in the MCD elections. Out of 182 seats in Gujarat, BJP has won 156 seats. Congress has taken 17 and Aam Aadmi Party has taken 5 seats.
Out of 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh, Congress has won 40 seats and BJP has won 25 seats. At the same time, even the account of Aam Aadmi Party has not been opened. After this, if we talk about the results of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections, then the Aam Aadmi Party performed well here and captured 134 seats. While BJP won 104 seats, the Congress could not even cross double figures and got limited to 9 seats only.
This is a rough talk about the seats of the three parties in the three states. Now we will talk about which party has got the benefit and which party has suffered loss and which party has suffered huge loss. We will assess the condition of Congress, BJP and Aam Aami Party in these three states and know what this election says.
BJP
News Reels
BJP won a bumper victory in Gujarat. Here the party has won 156 seats. BJP has secured 52.51 percent votes in Gujarat. At the same time, the performance of BJP in the year 2017 was not so impressive, which has been seen this time. In the last assembly elections, BJP won only 99 out of 182 seats and 1 crore 47 lakh 24 thousand 31 people voted for BJP. According to vote sharing, BJP got 49.05 percent votes at that time.
On the other hand, if we look at the performance of BJP this time in Himachal Pradesh, it is disappointing. Here the party has won 25 seats. Talking about vote sharing, this time the party got 42.99 percent votes. In the year 2017, the party had won 44 out of 68 seats in the hill state and 18 lakh 46 thousand 432 people had voted. At the same time, BJP got 48.79 percent votes in vote sharing.
BJP’s 15-year-old talisman broke in Delhi Municipal Corporation elections and it was able to win only 104 wards out of 250 wards. If we talk about vote sharing, this time BJP got 39.09 percent vote share. So, in the municipal elections held in the year 2017, BJP had won 181 wards and got 36.08 percent vote share. Although BJP’s vote share increased in these elections, it could not be converted into seats.
Congress
Good news has come for the Congress only from Himachal Pradesh, where the party is forming the government. Here the party has won 40 seats. Talking about vote sharing, there is not much difference between the vote sharing of BJP and Congress. Congress got 43.90 percent vote share here while BJP got 42.99 percent. On the other hand, if we talk about the 2017 elections, Congress won only 21 out of 68 seats and the vote sharing percentage was 41.68 percent.
gujarat assembly election The condition of the Congress is worse than the results of the 2017 elections. This time the party won only 17 seats. If we look at the vote sharing, this time Congress got only 27.27 percent votes. It can be said here that the Aam Aadmi Party has succeeded in making a dent in the vote share of the Congress. Because in the year 2017 elections, Congress had performed better than this and won 77 seats while contesting 177 seats. At that time the vote share of the party was 41.44 percent, which has now come down to 27.27 percent.
Talking about the performance of Congress in Municipal Corporation of Delhi, this time Congress has won only 9 wards. The party suffered heavy loss in vote sharing and Congress got only 11.68 percent votes. So in the year 2017 elections, Congress had won 30 wards and the voting percentage was 21.09 percent. That is to say, the party had to lose its 10 percent vote share. Here also the biggest reason was Aam Aadmi Party. Here too AAP made a dent in the vote sharing of Congress.
Aam Aadmi Party
The elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi brought happiness for the Aam Aadmi Party. In the MCD elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won 134 wards with its best performance and vote share was 42.05 percent. In the 2017 elections, the Aam Aadmi Party had won only 48 wards and the vote share was 26.23 percent. This time AAP got about 16 percent more votes.
Now let’s talk about Gujarat where Aam Aadmi Party is contesting elections for the first time and has also won 5 seats. Here, if we talk about the voting percentage of the party, then the party has secured 12.92 percent votes. If seen in this way, here also the party has made a dent in the Congress vote and converted it into its own account.
In Himachal Pradesh, not a single seat has gone to the Aam Aadmi Party’s account and the voting percentage was also 1.10 percent. This has been the worst performance of the party in the hill state. In fact, in Himachal Pradesh, the Aam Aadmi Party did not even contest the elections with the same vigor as it did for the Gujarat and Delhi Municipal Corporation elections. The party has also had to bear the brunt of it.
